okay, I've started watching the untamed, and yes, I am confused.

[okay, I don't want any spoilers and I haven't googled this series as I don't want to know what happens].

Okay, so I think that this has started in media res.

Think that he has been reincarnated and but he's himself but no one recognises him and he's remembering what led to his reincarnation. But I could be wrong.

The Trickster guy is lovely and entertaining--but OMG he segues into annoying. But the ascetic guy’s micro expressions are phenomenal.


What are they cultivating?

Yes, it's so very confusing in the beginning! It took me so long to realise that there had been (several) time jumps. /o\ And who is who because all of them have long hair in similar hair styles and similar clothes. /o\

I'll try to be very vague so that I'm not spoiling you accidentally and, since I've watched it in July/August are not quite sure what/when happens (my brain, the sieve). But, if you want to know anything - let me know!

Also, if you like til the end and want some fic recs...? :)

Trickster is Wei Wuxian/Wei Ying and ascetic guy is Lan Wangji/Lan Zhan, right?

Yes the micro expressions of him are exceptional!

I'm not the best at telling people apart. I had to stop watching the Arrow because there was a ex-girl friend, current girlfriend and a sister who I couldn't tell apart and I was just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At work there was these two ladies who I genuinely couldn't tell apart (much to the amusement of a friend who I asked to help as she is of the opinion that they are in no way identical). I literally would talk to these ladies and inwardly I'm (gimme a clue. Gimme a clue. Are you the boss' PA or the lady who does finance?).

Luckily, one of them retired (the finance lady) *g*

Same. After six eppies of Bridgerton I still can't keep her brothers apart. /o\ I also can't keep Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard apart except when watching a movie and knowing which one of them is in it. And let's not talk about Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds. And some others... /o\

Luckily, I haven't had this problem at work yet (except for the identical twins) but I keep mixing up names if they are similar. Like, I sometimes keep calling my (newish) co-worker David instead of Daniel because his predecessor (who looks nothing like him) was called David... *facepalm*

to be fair, getting identical twins confused is understandable *g*

I find that face confusion is not consistent. We have identical twins in the fam, and whilst others confuse them, I do not -- but it is more about sensing their personalities rather than then physical difference [hmmm, makes a note for fic purposes].

Yeah, but still. If they stand side by side I sometimes can tell them apart but if I meet them separately? Nope. No chance.

Oh, that's an interesting thinky thought/fact.
