WRITER'S MEME: Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of the top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most.
Uhm
I have a genuine fondness for my due South story ‘due Horror’ -- mainly for the content/story rather than the grammar. Grammar? I don’t actually think that there is any in it, or at the least it’s extremely inconsistent. I’ve learned so much since then. I actually remember writing ‘due Horror’, crafting the words to describe what I wanted to see. ‘Due Horror’ was the first story that I ever posted in a fanfiction community. I had written previously, but never posted.
‘Kith and Kin’ was my first Sentinel story (without seeing a single episode). It was cute and, basically, wrote itself (something that I had never experienced before). And, it got feedback, OMG feedback.
‘Our Unconquerable Soul’ -- another Sentinel story. Like ‘due Horror’, this was about exploring evil and, I wanted to see if I could describe an evil which had no form. I have to admit, I really like OUS and reread it, periodically.
‘A Jaffa's work is never done’ -- SG-1 with a poor, beleaguered Teal’c. I loved channelling Teal’c’s dry tone as he looks after Daniel and tries to understand the weird Tauri that he suddenly has to live amongst.
Hmmmm, no’ five… I was kind of surprised that as I thought about this, that none of the SGA fics immediately jumped to mind. ‘Chipping Stone’, I have a certain amount of feelings for but I don’t love it. Perhaps love comes with time. I know, however, that
‘Red, Red Wine’ – Highlander, is my number five. I wrote this for
teenygozer and it’s like a red wine, full bodied and a bit different.
