when I was little (I was weaned on Dr.Who) I discovered The Professionals.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Professionals_(TV_series)

suffice to say most fannish folk will *know* of the Professionals. There's two blokes + they work together = all the fandom/fanfic elements are present. There's a lot of elf!Doyle fic out there as well... and a curious preponderance of AUs.

I have an old, ropey version VHS version of this vid, which I have always considered to be one of the funniest -- if not the funniest -- vid I've ever seen. You don't to be a Pros fan to enjoy this, but it probably helps to like slash.

ETA: my most favourite Pros fic of all time (B/D)

Harlequin Airs by Ellis Ward (Illustrated by Suzan Lovett)

Oh, fantastic! My copy of Detatchable Penis is so old and so bad that it's barely watchable, but I watch it anyhow! Having a shiny new downloaded version is wonderful! And Harlequin Airs. I haven't read that in years. Wow, what a treasure. Thank you so much for the links!

I laughed myself sick the first time that I saw it. Today's been pretty grotbags and when I saw this link (as I surfed aimlessly) it was like \o/. I had to share the largess.

Then I thought to explore the archive further, which inevitably led to Harlequin Airs. It's been a while since I read it, but geez, that zine was thumbed into fluffy corners. Suzan Lovett's covers were just icing on the cake. If I remember correctly, I also read a lot of Pamela Rose. Hmmmm

wanders off to further hunt through the archive.

what a curious comment. They're not mutually exclusive in terms of enjoyment.

Hello--
I don't remember how I stumbled upon your journal, but I followed your rec to "Harlequin Airs" last night and then proceeded to spend the evening with my eyes glued to the computer screen. Thanks for introducing me to a new corner of the fandom (well, new to me at least). :)

You're more than welcome :-) Ellis Ward's other stuff is good. Harlequin Airs is my favourite, though.

I also wander jumping from friends list to entry to person, much fun
